I was raised on the back of a horse, with rodeo woven into the rhythm of my life. As a teenager, competing in barrel races was second nature. But like many stories, mine took a turn—school, starting a family, and a life that slowly moved me away from the horses that once defined me.

It took 13 years and a quiet Thursday night at the Blue Moon Rodeo to bring it all rushing back. Sitting in those bleachers, watching the dirt fly and hearing the echoes of my younger self, I realized something was missing. I told myself I couldn’t go back—I wasn’t brave enough. I had two little kids who needed me. But the pull of the arena didn’t let go.

That fall, I sold my trail horse and found a barrel horse—one that felt like she was meant for me. That decision wasn’t just about racing. It was about reclaiming a part of myself, and learning I was braver than I believed.

Sky & Saddle was born from that moment.
